Do you know that once you learn a word in Advanced English, you will often need less than a minute of your life to keep it indefinitely in your memory?
If you want to get a perfect command of English, Advanced English is the best tool for you!!!
There are three major reasons for the above sentence to hold true:
- in combination with SuperMemo, it is probably the world's best and fastest avenue towards excellent command of English,
- it contains a very rich material (40,000+ items) that reaches beyond the knowledge of highly educated native speakers including the entire vocabulary lists required for FCE, TOEFL, and GRE examinations (see: Advanced English 2002 knowledge tree),
- the learning material is structured in a way that makes it easy to remember.
Advanced English is the best known material for learning with SuperMemo. Some users of earlier versions of Advanced English memorized 20,000 new words and phrases in the first year!

Strict monolinguality of Advanced English imposes the necessity for rudimentary knowledge of English vocabulary and grammar to start working with the collection.
If you are a complete beginner, we recommend that you start out with the Basic English collection with basic words and phrases of English in your national version, and back it up with the Basic English Grammar collection on practical aspects of English grammar at the basic and intermediate levels, before you start learning with Advanced English.
Currently there are 5 national versions of the Basic English collection available:

A user from Poland (May 18, 1999) Note: I have used Advanced English since its release in 1997. It has been most helpful in expanding my vocabulary. I made an extensive use of Polish translations which are not available in other languages (save a few) and this may limit Advanced English to those who are really at the advanced level. I truly believe that no other system can beat Advanced English in improving vocabulary. Even if a Longman dictionary were to be converted to SuperMemo format, it would not provide that simple and easily memorizable definitions. I have memorized 10,000 items in 18 months without a major effort and consider it a great success.

Jens Buurgaard Nielsen from Denmark (Jun 07, 2001) Note: This very comprehensive collection can replace even an excellent dictionary. For the last years I've been looking up all new words in this collection and then memorized them. Nearly all words have been in this collection. Really powerful for s(he) who wishes to master English.
